With a series of booklets which I have called «Profiles in Norway» I hope to collect information on civil and military aircraft that have been operated in Norway.
The booklets are aimed at readers with a general interest in aviation, as well as modelers. The contents are, as far as available, copies of instruction manuals, etc., color profiles, scale drawings, technical descriptions and a brief history.
Some pictures and text may have been published before in different publications. I will also try to include some information on model kits currently available for the types of aircraft contained in these booklets.

Each booklet typically are 32 pages, printed on high quality paper.

  1. Hello.

I’m making a model of a Gloster Gladiator in the style of the Norwegian Air Force in 1940, at the moment when the Germans invaded. In particular, I am modeling the aircraft flown by Finn Thorsager, serial ‘433’.

As far as I know, it was the only example in the unit to have what looks like ‘grey spaghetti’ camouflage added over the silver dope on the upper surfaces. I can’t see much else in the way of colours on this aircraft, but I would at least like to know what I should be using for the camo.

I’ve searched everywhere on the internet and can’t find any hint of a colour chart for the Norwegian Air Force at that time. Can you help?

I hope to hear from you.

    Best wishes.

    John
